FileMenu Tools
FileMenu Tools allows you to customise the context menu of Windows Explorer. And it lets you:
- Add some built-in utilities that perform operations on files and folders.
- Add customised commands which run external applications, copy/move to a specific folder or delete specific file types.
- Configure the "Send to..." submenu.
- Enable/disable commands which are added by other applications to the context menu.

Microsoft Office Word / Excel / PowerPoint viewer
A free tool not many people know about from Microsoft is the Word and Excel viewer. If you receive a word / excel / powerpoint document from someone, then you will probably use Open Office to view it if you do not have Microsoft Office installed. But why install a large program such as Open Office, or even Microsoft Office if all you will ever do is view documents and not edit / create them.

WinMerge
WinMerge is an ideal tool for viewing differences between two text based files (.txt, .as, .cpp, etc�) usually used in programming environments. I personally use this tool in collaboration with a file versioning tool (Tortoise SVN). When is this tool useful? Example: You have a local copy of �mycode.as� and another person has that same copy on their computer. You work on that file and make modifications. At the same time the other person also makes modifications on their own local version of that same file. When you upload that file into subversion, and the other person uploads their version as well, there will be a conflict as both have been modified. WinMerge can then show you the differences and merge them for you. You can make modifications in the view panes if you wish and save the merged file.

VirtualDub is an easy to use lightweight and very powerful video editor and encoder. You can encode video�s into any .avi video format that is installed in your system (divx, xvid, mjpeg, etc�). It also lets you extract audio tracks from various video formats (avi and mpeg) and re-encode video�s using other audio files as a soundtrack. Using the timeline you can also trim pieces of the footage. Using a wide set of video filters will let you edit the color, contrast, sharpness, size, etc� of the output video. You can download virtualdub plugins (just Google for them) and extend the capabilities of virtualdub to include automatic video stabilizing to convert shaky video recordings to more steady ones.
There is also a modified version called VirtualDubMod with some extra features.

The Font Thing
The Font Thing is a free font manager. It is very mutch like �SuitCase� for the MAC. You can browse installed and not installed fonts with a custom text. You can load or install fonts and unload or uninstall fonts. It also lets you create font groups and quickly load them. The difference between �loading� a font and �installing� a font is that a loaded font is only temporary available until you reboot Windows or unload it. This is very handy if you only need to use the font once, instead of installing every single font you need to use and end up having hundreds of fonts installed in your computer after a while, which slows down font browsing a you end up having a huge list of fonts to scroll trough in your applications.
