CCleaner (formerly known as Crap Cleaner) is specialized in cleaning files and registry keys from your system that are no longer needed. Sure there are many many many other system cleaning tools out there, but what makes CCleaner good is that they have lots of experience and thus know exactly what files and registry keys can go and what files you better not touch. The program is light (loads fast) and extremely simple to use. Just start the program, click on what you want to clean (Cleaner to clean files, and Registry to clean registry), click on Analyze to see a preview on what is to be deleted or if you fully trust that all will be fine just click on Run Cleaner and the preview will be skipped. Optionally you are asked if you wish to save a backup of the deleted registry keys.
More than that it also has an uninstall feature to uninstall programs (although I prefer Revo Uninstaller), a startup items tool (I prefer StartupCPL), a way to manage your system restore points, exclude certain folders from cleaning and include certain folders to always clean.
